People Who Will Not Enter Heaven: A Warning from Jesus

People Who Will Not Enter Heaven: A Warning from Jesus

In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus warns us that not everyone who calls him "Lord" will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. He says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'" This warning is stern and should be taken seriously.

In Revelation 22:15, we are told that those who are outside the city walls (heaven) are the dogs, sorcerers, sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, and all who love and practice falsehood. This shows that not everyone will be allowed into heaven. There are certain actions that disqualify people from entering the kingdom.

1 Corinthians 6:9–10 tells us that those who do not live according to Christ's teachings will not inherit the kingdom of God. It says, "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." These verses show that there are certain lifestyles that are incompatible with living in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Galatians 5:19–21 also lists actions that will disqualify people from entering heaven. The passage says, "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."

In Ephesians 5:5 and 1 Timothy 1:9, Paul warns us that those who are not truly following Christ will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Ephesians 5:5 says, "For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." 1 Timothy 1:9 adds, "We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me."

Hebrews 12:14 tells us that we must strive for holiness if we want to see God. It says, "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." This passage emphasizes the importance of living a holy life if we want to be in the presence of God.

In 1 John 5:13, we are told that we can have assurance of our salvation if we believe in Jesus Christ. The verse states, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." This passage gives us hope that we can be assured of our place in heaven if we believe in Jesus Christ.

Luke 13:3 tells us that unless we repent, we will perish. The verse says, "I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." This passage emphasizes the need for repentance and turning away from sin if we want to enter heaven.

In Philippians 3:20, Paul tells us that our citizenship is in heaven. He says, "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." This passage reminds us that we are not citizens to this earthly realm but rather we have celestial citizenship.

Finally, Revelation 21:4 describes the joy and peace that awaits us in heaven. It says, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." This passage gives us hope that heaven will be a place of joy and rest.

In conclusion, Jesus warns us that not everyone who claims to follow him will inherit the kingdom of heaven. We should take his warning seriously and strive to live according to his teachings. Those who live hypocritical lives, worship idols, practice sexual immorality or any other actions listed in the Bible will not enter heaven. But there is hope for those who turn to Christ and pursue holiness. Let us remember that our citizenship is in heaven, and let us strive to live as citizens of the Kingdom of God.
